This book is outstanding! Thus from the very start you know what will be the resumé of this review. Nick Walker compiled an in-depth account of Bentley Motors during a period that was tremendously important for the marque - the era of a new start after the take-over by Rolls-Royce. In addition to detailed description and analysis of the Bentley 3 ½ Litre and Bentley 4 ¼ Litre the short life - due to outbreak of WWII - of the Bentley Mark V is covered. The success of these models was the basis for Bentley starting again after the war. There could be little doubt that a competent author was at work because Nick Walker enjoys the reputation to be an expert. In this case his precise documentation is enhanced by perfect illustrations. Colour photos -sometimes in series that even show tiny details - are of highest standard and the fine mono photos had been selected very carefully. Many of the mono photos had not been published previously in other Bentley books- hence these are a delight even for aficionados. The verdict after all: This book is outstanding!
