In 1925 Bentley started production of models with 6-cylinder-engines of fairly big capacity which combined more power and much re-fined operation when compared to the behaviour of the previously launched Bentley 3 Litre with its 4-cylinder engine. The first such model was the Bentley 6 1/2 Litre; at some stage followed the Bentley 8 Litre. The company's 'Swan Song' during the period of the World Economic Crisis was the final Bentley 4 Litre. James Taylor provides in-depth information as regards development and technical features of these models. He does inform about the competition history of the Bentley 6 1/2 Liter and a review of the range of bodies offered by varous coachbuilders makes for most interesting reading, too. The exquisite quality of the colour photos are a perfect match to the painstakingly careful researched text.
